1. Pei Hwa Presbyterian School
The school is founded by Preacher Joseph Koh and it was known as Road End School in 1989. The school was renamed as Pei Hwa School in 1922 where pupils performed outstandingly well and there was a sharp increase in the enrolment. The school was selected by the Ministry of Education for as a Special Assistance Plan (SAP) school and it was also selected as one of three schools to participate in the Full-Day School Programme.
The school is not only excel academically but their ECA as well. Their basketball team is one of the best among all the primary schools in Singapore.
2. Methodist Girls’ Primary/ Secondary School
The Methodist Girls’ School is founded by Miss Sophia Blackmore in 15 August 1887. It was supported by the Women’s Foreign Missionary Society of the Methodist Episcopal Church in America, Miss Blackmore, an Australian missionary, came to Singapore with a mission – to provide girls an education.
A hundred years after its founding, MGS sought greater autonomy from the Ministry of Education (MOE) to provide quality education for its girls; MOE responded with a counter-proposal for independence. Consequently, in January 1989 the Secondary school acquired independent status; thereafter the full school functioned in a single session, for the benefit of all. Independence, and the advantages that came with it, gave fresh impetus to the drive towards excellence.
As a whole the school as won several awards such as the School Distinction Award, The Singapore Quality Class and the BPA – Teaching and Learning award. Both the primary and secondary schools have won the SAA – Physical Fitness and Sports awards. As for the secondary school, it has won the Academic Value-added, Aesthetics and Character Development Awards.

3. Raffles Girls’ School
Founded in 1823 as The Singapore Institution and later renamed as Raffles Institution, the school grew to be a beacon of educational excellence that attracted the best from all walks of life regardless of race or creed in Singapore, and from overseas. Eventually, this tradition of educational excellence led to the founding of Raffles Girls' School (Secondary) in 1879 and Raffles Junior College in 1982.
The school has a unique talent development program for specialized areas of learning in the Humanities, Mathematics, Science and Technology, and the Arts. The students have unique environments, in both physical and intellectual terms, for the scholarly pursuit at the highest possible level, in each of these disciplines.
4. Hwa Chong Institution
THE MISSION OF HWA CHONG INSTITUTION (HCI) is to develop leaders for the nation. The institution is the culmination of the watershed merger between the former Chinese High School (founded in 1919) and Hwa Chong Junior College (founded in 1974) in 2005.
A premier independent school in Singapore with a rich history of 90 years, HCI has produced 50 President's Scholars to date – the highest number amongst all junior colleges.

5. National Junior College
The school started to receive applications from 28 Oct 1968 to 13 Nov 1968. Out of 2000 students who applied for a place the school, only 574 were successful. These students made up the pioneer batch of NJCians and are also known as the ‘69ers.
The school has achieved several awards such as the School Distinction Award and it is recognized as one of the best junior colleges in Singapore.
